Eleven-year-old Andrew is an energetic and inquisitive young man.  He is constantly playing on the computer and playing video games with his little sister.  Andrew also is an avid Harry Potter fan.  He loves reading the books and watching the movies.  He is very excited about the new movie coming out this year.  Andrew bravely battles a life-threatening medical condition and although it sometimes slows his body down, he never lets it quiet his active mind and curious spirit.  He loves to keep his brain busy!

When Andrew first met his wish granters from the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of North Texas, he was torn between a computer with all of the accessories or a trip to the Bahamas.  After careful consideration, and a little help from his wish granters, Andrew wished for something he could enjoy for a long time – a MacBook Pro!  Andrew knew having his own computer would mean he could always keep himself very entertained, even on days when his body needed a rest.  With his very own computer, he could watch the Harry Potter movies, listen to music and keep up-to-date with his friends!

The fairy godmothers at the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas got to work planning Andrew’s wish.  Thanks to a little help from Best Buy’s Geek Squad and Wal-Mart, they were able to make Andrew’s wish come true.  To celebrate the unveiling of his wish, Andrew’s wish granters set-up a special party to surprise him!  The wish granters had set up a table full of Andrew’s new MacBook and all the accessories he needed.  Andrew was in complete shock when he saw everything.  Not only did he see his new computer, but he saw a digital camera, ipod shuffle, laptop case, and even a handful of his favorite programs and a few games for him to enjoy!

It was a wonderful day full of surprises for Andrew.  His new computer, and his other special gifts, will provide years of fun and learning.  The “power of a wish” gave Andrew a renewed hope for the future, strength for his fight ahead, joy that filled his heart, and memories that will last a lifetime.
