Donor Services Coordinator:

(Location: Irving Office)

Our Donor Services Coordinator will be responsible for coding, entering and tracking monetary gifts in Raiser’s Edge. The coordinator will process acknowledgements and maintain accuracy and consistency of gift and donor data. The position will also assist with donor stewardship and recognition.

Qualifications:

Non-profit, donor care, and donor database experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university. One to three years’ experience in the field or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Development Coordinator - Central North Region

(Location: Irving Office)

Our Development Coordinator – Central North Region will provide administrative support to the Central Development team in the logistical coordination and implementation of events and/or programs sponsored by Make-A-Wish North Texas. The position will oversee internal event logistics and sponsorships for Wish 100 and Delicious Wishes and will manage our Kids For Wish Kids program and external events for the Central North Region.  Our Central North Region consists of the following counties – Collin, Rockwall, Grayson, Fannin and Denton County east of I-35W.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Works closely with the Director of Development on both sponsorship and creative elements for Wish 100 and Delicious Wishes. 
  • Manage sponsor portfolio of donors $5,000 and below and solicit new sponsors.
  • Coordinate meetings for Wish 100 and Delicious Wishes committees.
  • Responsible for Wish 100 and Delicious Wishes event logistics including auction databases, event registrations, venue relations and coordination of volunteers and wish families.
  • Manage external events and Kids for Wish Kids to ensure they are in compliance with National standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred with a minimum of two years related experience.

Solid knowledge of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or a comparable relational donor database preferred.

Excellent written, editing and verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to use diplomacy and tact when communicating with all stakeholders within the organization.

Strong prospect research and analytical skills.

Energetic, flexible and proactive with a roll-up-the-sleeves work attitude.

Demonstrated ability to establish rapport when meeting new people.

Must be able to plan and prioritize to handle multiple tasks and projects.

    Program Interns - Assist the program team by working with the wish families to help plan their wishes, assist in paperwork, answer the phones, and be one of the first initial contacts a wish family has with the Foundation. Plan wish itineraries, work with companies to enhance wishes, and helping all aspects of the wish process to run smoothly.

    Program Business Intern-Opportunity to apply business skills within a non-profit organization. Will learn aspects of annual planning, budgeting, wish reconciliation, compliance and database management.  Experience with Excel and standard business processes is a plus.

    Development Interns - Support the development team in fundraising initiatives and special events. Looking for a creative individual who can write wish stories, help with details of donor recognition program and support all areas within the organization. During this internship, you will also be involved in planning internal events and coordinating external events.

    Communications Intern (General Marketing/PR) - Assists the Communications Team with communications efforts in all regions. Intern tasks include but are not limited to: writing press releases for upcoming fundraising events and wish parties, creating promotional materials for general brand awareness or for specific events or donor appreciation, developing content needed for website and social media, capturing media coverage for all regions, updating our contact database, etc. It is required that you are familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite as we do a lot of design projects in this software.

    Communications Intern (Journalism/Creative Writing) - Assists the Communications Team with writing content needed for all communications efforts (i.e. website, direct mail, social media, e-newsletters, marketing material, etc.) with a main focus on producing wish stories. Intern tasks include but are not limited to: researching upcoming and past wishes, working with staff, wish families and volunteers for wish details, gathering storytelling collateral (i.e. photos/video), organizing our wish kid collateral folders, etc. It is required that you are at least familiar with the Adobe Photoshop.

    Volunteer Intern - Assists the Volunteer Manager with daily tasks such as responding to volunteer inquiries and processing volunteer applications for all regions. Helps with the planning and production of volunteer trainings and other events. In addition, there will be quite a few opportunities to “think outside the box” and work on small projects as we grow and develop the Volunteer Program.

    Medical Outreach Intern (General)-Assist the Director of Medical Outreach with medical outreach in all regions.  The summer intern, under the direction of the Director of Medical Outreach and Outreach Coordinator, work with our DFW hospital partners to facilitate camp send offs throughout the summer.  This includes but is not limited to; securing volunteers, collaborating with the hospital coordinators, creating activities, securing donations when needed and coordinating Make-A-Wish volunteers at the send offs.  In addition the outreach intern will assist  with creating outreach materials and working with the outreach manager to plan and execute additional outreach events.  The intern will also have the opportunity to work with the program team to support the wish process for our wish families. Please note many of the send-offs are on weekends.  Flexibility and weekend availability are required.

    Medical Outreach Intern (Marketing/Design)- Assist the Director of Medical Outreach with medical outreach in all regions. The intern will use design software to create materials to be used for outreach and stewardship of our referral sources.  In addition, will assist the outreach team with research, referral recognition, data entry and assist with taking referrals.  The intern will have opportunities to assist with outreach events, some are on weekends/evenings. The intern will also have the opportunity to work with the program team to support the wish process for our wish families.  Design software experience (IE: In-Design or Adobe Illustrator) is required. 

    Corporate Relations  Intern - Assists the Director of Corporate Relations in researching, identifying, marketing and developing new corporate partnerships. Corporate Relations intern tasks include, but are not limited to: researching companies, creating reports ,developing  proposals, assisting with internal & external communications, and brainstorming new ideas & concepts for consideration. We ask that you are familiar with Microsoft office, good power point& presentation skills, basic research skills, ability to compile reports, knowledge of excel and a positive attitude!

    All of our internships are geared towards Juniors or Seniors in college looking for at least 20 hours a week.
