Make-A-Wish North Texas is celebrating 30 years of granting wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions and will unveil a public service announcement (PSA) that Texas Rangers’ infielder Ian Kinsler participated in this off-season before the Texas Rangers’ game on Monday, May 14th. Make-A-Wish North Texas President & CEO, Scotty Landry, will present Ian Kinsler with an award for his involvement in the PSA which is a reminder of the renewed hope that heroes; like Kinsler, give to wish children everyday. The 30, 60 and 90 second spots star Ian alongside past wish recipient Sam, age 8, who received his wish to go to a Space Shuttle launch in May of 2010 and has since helped the Foundation with a number of similar promotional projects. On April 29, more than 30 years to the day after a young leukemia patient named Chris was granted his wish to be a police officer for a day, Make-A-Wish supporters around the globe will celebrate World Wish Day, in honor of the wish that sparked a global wish-granting movement. Make-A-Wish will mark World Wish Day with celebrations throughout the United States and in the 47 other countries in which it operates by celebrating the wishes being granted on that day. Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with a life-threatening medical condition approximately every 23 minutes somewhere in the world. Read More
The Mustangs of Las Colinas, one of the largest equestrian sculptures in the world, will be the focal point of this Saturday’s 7th Annual Briggs Equipment, A Sammons Enterprises Company, Race for Wishes taking place at Williams Square in Irving, Texas. Make-A-Wish North Texas will host the 28th Annual Wiley Hicks, Jr. Memorial on Saturday and Sunday, March 31st & April 1st at the Amarillo National Center at the Tri-State Fairgrounds in Amarillo, Texas. Xstream AutoClean has teamed up with Make-A-Wish North Texas for the second year to grant more wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Xstream AutoClean is a premier car wash with locations ranging from Abilene, Lubbock, Dallas and Plano. Throughout the month of March, send your automobile through the wash with the special Xstream AutoClean sticker and a portion of each wash will go directly to Make-A-Wish North Texas. Washes are not limited, and a donation will be made each time an automobile with the special sticker passes through the wash. In conjunction with the sticker promotion, Xstream AutoClean employees will also collect donations throughout the first two weeks of the month in hopes of reaching their goal. Read More
