Make-A-Wish North Texas is pleased to announce Children’s Health and its President and CEO, Christopher J. Durovich, as Honorary Chairs for its 21st annual Wish Night gala on Saturday, May 20. Presented by Helzberg Diamonds®, the black-tie event – aptly themed A Night Among the Stars – raises funds to help grant the wishes of hundreds of North Texas children with life-threatening medical conditions.
“Under the leadership of Mr. Durovich, Children’s Health has become a valuable referral partner as we seek to grant over 650 wishes this year alone,” said Make-A-Wish North Texas President and CEO, Scotty Landry. “More importantly, Children’s Health is a constant resource for our Wish Families, providing superior pediatric care throughout their medical journey. We are humbled and honored to have their support not only at Wish Night, but every single day.”
After setting a record-breaking $2 million in donations received at the 2016 event, Make-A-Wish North Texas hopes to raise even more funds in 2017 to help grant wishes throughout its 161-county territory. Interested guests can purchase tickets now at www.WishNight.org.
For more than 100 years, Children’s Health has been the leading pediatric health care system in North Texas and is the eighth-largest pediatric health care provider in the nation with more than 7,000 highly-skilled physicians, nurses, technicians, caring volunteers and team members. Prior to joining Children’s Health in 2003, Mr. Durovich held leadership roles at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine, the University of Michigan Health System, Northwestern University Medical School and Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
“Children’s Health and Make-A Wish-North Texas share a passion for making life better for children,” said Mr. Durovich. “We understand the significant role a wish plays in a child’s medical journey and could not be more honored to support Wish Night. Delivering a memorable experience for children and families long into the future is imperative, while also providing the right care, at the right time and in the right place.”
